Why do people do this?

Fantastic image Nigel. Great action shot.
Oh boy, does this speak volumes! I have so much sympathy for him. Great catch, and the sky just serves to underscore his efforts!

Looking good!
Saves on heating fuel costs if you get out and do a bit of exercise at this time of the year... #24 doesn't look cold.

Great action shot, Nigel.

The look of pain from endurance. Our oldest son was a runner. He lived for it.

Great capture Nigel.
This is great Nigel! I really like the contrast between the runner and the audience and the sky and processing just adds to this image.

his face expression is just memorable. fantastic shot. love the b&w processing, makes it more real. he must have a great ambition and self control.
Nigel Clack: He certainly has more than me in all respects. Thanks for popping over Romine.

The poor guy lol! We don't look our best when running like that ... but such an indignity to have his number STAMPED ON HIS FOREHEAD?! Great action shot.
Nigel Clack: Thanks Ian, luckily he wasnt alone and most people were brandedwink

Great shot, Nigel! Around here the numbers are signs around the neck or pasted across the shirt. Never saw them on the forehead like that.

Phew, he looks both determined and tired at the same time
Wow! I love it. So different from my post today on a similar topic. The B/W suits it perfectly
Superb shot, Nigel. You can see the pain on his face.
Fantastic, especially the number on his head :-D

Did you use flash? You have lit him very well while the background is dark. I like it.
