We have a lot of snowdrops Nigel but I can't recall seeing those green markings on the white petals.
Nigel Clack: I wouldn't have a clue, I only know that I didn't add them in PPsmile Maybe Graham P can answer as I know he likes Snow Drops. See Grahams answer below.

Galanthus,my favourite flower, nice use of the light,is it my imagination or have you got a slight reflective shadow bottom front left from your lens? Looks like a round dark circle?Snowdrops have hundreds of named varieties that have these sort of markings, some are rare and cost a small fortune for the avid collector.
Nigel Clack: Thanks for that, I added a lens flare effect. I forgot to mention that this was with your lens.

I would like sharper focus on the nearest two. These flowers have lines in the white petals that could be nice to see.

You probably went for another effect, given the 'lens flare' etc.
Wonderful capture Nig. I like the softness here!
